LINK to HI RESOLUTION for PRESS Artists Reception Tabla Rasa Gallery is pleased announce a groundbreaking exhibition of artwork by Clarity Haynes, "Radical Acceptance," and to host a 2011 College Art Association Conference Special Event, an artists' reception and panel discussion, “The Feminist Breast: Women, Nudity and Portraiture.” This event is free and open to the public. Thirty five original contemporary paintings and works on paper will be on display, ranging in scale from the monumental to the miniature. Gallerist Audrey Anastasi says, "Ms. Haynes is a prolific artist, with remarkable skill and an exceptional talent for rendering human flesh and form. This series epitomizes both the tenderness and power of her vision." There will be panel discussion, “The Feminist Breast: Women, Nudity and Portraiture”, from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm, followed by an opening reception from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm. Panelists include Brandon Brame Fortune, Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the National Portrait Gallery; artist Kathleen Gilje; art historian Diane Radycki, Director of the Payne Gallery and Associate Professor at Moravian College; Patricia Cronin, artist and Associate Professor at Brooklyn College; artist Clarity Haynes, and models from the exhibition, Wilhelmina Obatola Grant and Robin Burdulis. Moderated by Beth Gersh-Nesic, Director of the New York Arts Exchange. |

About Clarity Haynes Clarity Haynes holds an MFA in painting from Brooklyn College and a Certificate in Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her work has been exhibited at diverse venues including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the Allentown Art Museum, the ‘temporary Museum in Brooklyn, NY, and Artistâ€s House gallery in Philadelphia. Awards include the William Emlin Cresson Traveling Scholarship from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Charles Shaw Award for Excellence in Painting from Brooklyn College, the Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Grant, and the Brooklyn Arts Council Regrant Award. She has been a Visiting Artist at the New York Academy of Art, Maryland University, and the College of William and Mary, and currently teaches drawing and painting at Adelphi University and Brooklyn College.
